Depreciation in DKK after 2, 4 and 6 years

How we calculated

New prices are the importers' recommended list prices for 2026 (cheapest version). Used prices are median prices for 2016 models for sale in Denmark (Bilzonen/Bilhandel, October 2026) with approx. 150,000 km and are indicative. A new car is calculated with a 20% loss in the first year and 10% a year after that, a used car with 8% in the first year and 6% after that. The new RAV4 has no official Danish price yet, so it is estimated.

Faults cost too

Faults on used cars cost on average

DKK 8,574

per car to fix, according to FDM's test of 2,026 used cars of five popular models (2024). Many faults hide in fault codes, engine and brakes, which a test drive won't reveal.
